Our City Council meets the third Monday of every month at City Hall starting at 7pm. The general public is welcome to attend.
Councilmen are elected for a four year term. The Mayor is elected to a two year term.

MINNEOLA CITY COUNCIL MEETS June 16, 2025
The Minneola City Council met in regular session on June 16, 2025, in the Civic Connection. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m., with the following Council members present: Dustin Laudick, Chad Kirk, and Debbie Buckley. Wesley Orr joined by phone. Mayor Carol Sibley presided. Also present was Tyler Knox, City Manager, and Brenda Stewart, City Clerk.
Stephen Poteet discussed the fence around his pool from last year and It meets the codes and does have self-latching gates. The t-posts are 6-8’ apart. The Council looked at pictures he presented. Dustin made a motion to allow the swimming pool fence as presented, Chad seconded, motion passed 4/0. Stephen also asked about the manhole that was going to be dropped down to ground level. Tyler stated they will get it done.
Denny Denton, Senior Center President, was absent from the meeting.
Howard Wideman discussed the proposed fence to be placed by the Veteran’s Memorial and having Building Solutions provide a quote. Howard also handed out a picture of concrete slabs, benches, bushes for the Community Park. I was mentioned that re-cycled tires would need to be used, and the landscape needs to be able to spray with weed killer ort be able to be mowed. Other items discussed included delinquent tax sale, solar farms, wind farms, and windfarm financials.
Dustin made a motion to approve the minutes from May 19, 2025, and June 3, 2025, Chad seconded, motion passed 4/0.
Financial Reports for May 2025 were reviewed. There were no questions.
Tyler Knox, Manager update:
Ethan Taylor, Health Insurance, is complicated with adding his son and being in the middle of the year. After reviewing the options, the City will reimburse Ethan and family to go on Charlotte’s health insurance until the open enrollment period.
The LED sign was having issues rebooting and has been off. Luminous Signs is coming to look at it.
The Audit for 2024 is starting Monday, June 23.
Permits are required to add an accessory structure (shed). Brenda will find out other cities regulations.
Wesly Orr disconnected from the meeting at 8:15 pm.
Mark Davis emailed a bill for finishing the pool roof above the new chlorine room. Chad made a motion to pay the bill. Debbie seconded, motion passed 3/0.
The bills were reviewed. Debbie made a motion to approve the bills as presented, Dustin seconded, motion passed 3/0.
Debbie made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Chad seconded, motion passed 3/0. The meeting adjourned at 8:25 pm.
